Canada: Federal government announces launch of National Quantum Strategy – January 13, 2023

In Waterloo, Ont., François-Philippe Champagne (minister of innovation, science and industry) announces the launch of the government’s “National Quantum Strategy,” which aims to guide the future of quantum technologies in the country and will help create thousands of jobs. He is joined by Bardish Chagger (Liberal MP, Waterloo), Robert Myers (director of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics), Stephanie Simmons (founder and chief quantum officer of Photonic Inc., and Canada research chair in silicon quantum technologies at Simon Fraser University) and Dr. Raymond Laflamme (Canada research chair in quantum information at the University of Waterloo).
