Peru’s president Dina Boluarte says she will not resign from her position

Despite nationwide protests, Peru’s president Dina Bolurate says she will not resign from her position. Friday she addressed protesters’ demands but also called for an end to the violence. “I apologize for this situation and for what has not been done to avoid these tragic events. But just as I ask for forgiveness, as president I ask with all my heart that we reject violence," the president said.
