God is referred to many times in the Bible, including by Christ himself as "the Father." There are other Biblical examples of good fatherhood and the benefits of men raising their children properly.

One of the most well-known figures in the Bible also happens to be somewhat of a counter-example when it comes to fatherhood. David, the first King of a united Israel could do many things, but one of the things he could not do well was to be a family man.

God has created a special and vital role in his great plan for human civilization for men who are blessed with children and become fathers. Those men have a unique opportunity to shape the future by properly raising the next generation with Godly values and traditions, and shepherding those children toward a better and brighter future.

Unfortunately, neglect of such an awesome and vital calling is often carried out without much thought as the world today with its broken homes and absentee parents, workaholic identity focus, and consumerist mindset can attest.

Children care far more about the presence of their father in their lives then they do in knowing whether he is rich, or famous, or a well thought of professional, or a highly regarded academic, or whether his office is large, or his car is expensive. Godly parenting reminds fathers that presence and effort in the child's life has no replacement. Jesus sought his Father constantly, strive to be that for your children.
