I lived in China for 3 years. Was it a mistake?

I lived in China for a couple of years, but I was living there full-time (including residence permit, etc.) from 2018 until 2021. I also spent time in China before that for months long business trips, etc. Looking back at my time in China it was a very turbulent time - but I was also very lucky to be in the right place at the right time. My career as an angel investor started because of China. And I was able to accumulate enough capital in Shanghai to get started angel investing. But it was not all perfect.
