I took peaches to our new tractor supply company today. When we first walked in, she was terrified. All she wanted to do was pull me back out the door. It was too much movement and noise for her. I couldn’t get her to quit pulling, so I went over and got a buggy to roll. I figured it would give her a better place idea of where I wanted her to walk. She kept trying to go around it. I decided since it was not busy I would walk on the other side of the aisle. That way she would have to walk beside me instead of trying to go in front of me. It worked really well far. She finally settle down and stayed in a walk position beside my left knee. I was very pleased with her since I have not worked on her leash manners. In the 4 months that I’ve had her I’ve been working more at just teaching her how to be a dog. Her first six months of life she had lived at n a pen with no kind human contact. Then went to a guard dog trainer that said he couldn’t make her mean and just put her back into another pen for 3 more months. When I got her, she did not even know her name. As far as I could tail did not know a single word. She did not even know what a ball was. Or how to play. Zak, my standard poodle has taught her so much. Now it’s time for me to start working on her obedience training.
