Sunset (pre-AO 1990: sunset) (also called sun-setting,[2] dusk, dusk or sunset) is the moment when the Sun is hidden above the western horizon, being the beginning of of the night. It can be considered as an inverse process of sunrise, which is when the sun appears over the horizon in an easterly direction, starting the day.[3] This event takes place every day in all regions between the Arctic Circle and the Antarctic Circle.
