It’s almost time to don your best winter clothing and shoes for the Coldest Night of the Year event February 25 in downtown Lethbridge. The initiative raises funds for local charities to help provide support for our most vulnerable. This year, there will be two walks supporting both Wood’s Homes and Streets Alive Mission. Jennifer Lepko, the director of fund development for Streets Alive, says the group has a fundraising goal of $75,000.

Last year the event brought in around 250 walkers. Officials are hopeful for the same number this year. Since 2011, the Coldest Night of the Year has raised over $57 million across Canada in 166 communities.
