Another year, another Coming-of-Age Day in Japan, where young people gathered in traditional attire to celebrate reaching the age of maturity and participate in official ceremonies and after-parties, all while donning elaborate customs inspired by traditional Kimonos. The holiday, which has been celebrated in Japan since the 8th century and became a national holiday in 1948, may be facing declining attendance rates and causing concern for the Kimono industry, which relies on its profits. But hey, at least they look fabulous while celebrating their coming of age
