Folks, forget New Year’s resolutions. It’s time for some New Year’s realizations. We’ve got to start realizing the truth about what’s happening around us and what it means. That includes some introspection and acceptance of the reality of who we are. A man known for helping people with that is Dr. Jordan Peterson. Now, I put "dr." in front of his name because he is, indeed, a doctor ... for now. A Canadian governing body of psychology ordered Peterson to enter what he called a “reeducation” program over his past comments that “may cause harm” to some individuals. If that sounds like something straight out of a dystopian novel to you, then you'd be right —it’s basically the plot of a lot of them. Luckily, the good doctor is standing strong and will refuse to comply with the demands of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. We should all aspire to follow his example and stay steadfast in our principles — even when it means sacrificing something. Mars, Inc., the parent company of the beloved M&M’s chocolate candy, is again going woke, offering a special edition, “all female” M&M’s package, featuring a new purple character designed to promote inclusivity. Why Mars decided to once again display some asinine, performative virtue-signaling is difficult to quantify seeing as it isn’t making any money. It’d be one thing if this act of bravery actually benefitted women or inclusivity, but it doesn't. Crocs has found itself in a similar situation after running a group of ads targeted toward the LGBT community — as if any self-respecting gay man would find himself in a pair of Crocs. It’s possible these companies simply have a genuine belief in the message and are willing to sacrifice their bottom lines for their virtue-signaling, but that’s difficult to believe. We’re joined by Sara Gonzales, BlazeTV host and M&M's expert, to shed some insight on the (nonexistent) impact campaigns like these are having.
