Contra III: The Alien Wars but I can't stop jumping Stage 1

I finally decided to take on Contra III: The Alien Wars and even on easy mode this is tough. I am going to be playing on normal and hard mode in the future but I need more experience to build myself up to it. Stages 2 and 5 are going to be 1 handed challenges because its a top down level where you can't jump
