Oak Hill Church of Christ 9-18-22 Message: "Fix Your Wick"

Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the need for those who follow Christ to make good on their promise.

The ability of mankind to know their place in the universe, to experience the joys of a well-lived life and the sorrows of setbacks can, at times, be as much a curse as a blessing. Those same insights that can provide wisdom can lead to unnecessary or excessive self-analysis that leads to paralysis instead of potentcy.

Jesus instructs his followers to be the light of the world. He instructs them to do this whether they think they are ready, or not. Whether they think well of themselves, or not. Whether they have studied or earned a religious degree, or not.

Yet, many Christians who profess Christ prefer to do so only among those people whose opinions they already know and trust. Jesus exhorts Christians today, as he did so long ago, to leave behind the spiritual or theological navel-gazing and begin the task of living as a Christian instead of claiming to be one.

Though this modern world brings concerning dangers of its own for the Christian, the flame should never fear the moth drawn to it. Burn brightly and powerfully for Christ. Someone may be waiting for your light to guide them to Jesus.
