FOOTLOOSE: Cops Catch Wanted Fugitive In Astonishing Foot Race After Spotting Him On A Traffic Stop
Cops from the USA have caught a fugitive crook after chasing him for several minutes after they spotted him on a traffic spot.
The wanted fugitive, identified as Cedric Beasley, 37, was arrested for throwing a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, felony battery, grand theft, and tampering with a witness on Thursday, 5th January.
In addition, he was also apprehended in regard to a new charge of resisting a law enforcement officer without violence in the city of Daytona Beach, in Florida State, USA.
Deputy LaFoucade and sergeant Zimmerer from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office in Florida were reportedly looking for Beasley along with the East Volusia Crime Suppression Team when they noticed him in a white vehicle in one of the county's neighbourhoods.
LaFoucade's bodycam footage shows the officer immediately getting out of the patrol car, after which he yells at Beasley: "Put your hands up! Hands up! Hands up, turn the vehicle off!"
But instead of surrendering, the 37-year-old man gets out of the vehicle and starts running away.
Following a 30-second-long foot chase, Beasley finally lifts his hands up in the air after the officer pursuing him shouts: "Stop breaching! You're gonna get shot!"
Tired and out of breath, he then falls to the ground, after which he is immediately arrested by the cops.
Volusia County Sheriff's Office said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: "He was treated on scene by Fire Rescue for an abrasion to his right knee and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail, where he later posted USD 32,000 (GBP 26,320) bond and was released Thursday night."
Social media users praised the police officers for their bravery after the Volusia County Sheriff's Office shared the bodycam video on their Facebook page on Friday, 6th January 2023.
Facebook user Sharon Challis Raffel said: "Great job, officers. Thankfully the officer was in good condition to run after the fugitive and get him.
"Thank you for the incredible job you do. Be safe out there."
Another user named Julie Smith commented: "Great job! Great capture! We are so blessed to have these deputies."
Then a third user named Kristen Jordan added: "God bless our police."
