SCUFFLE BREAKS OUT IN CONGRESS DURING McCARTHY VOTE

A small scuffle/fight broke out on the house floor on the night of January 6, 2023 between congressmen Mike Rogers and Richard Hudson. The interaction only happened after Mike Rogers furious pounced at Matt Gaetz, and Hudson detained him. It appears as if Richard Hudson grabbed Rogers as well as cover his mouth briefly. The cries and calls for order can be heard in the video clip. This happened after a fierce confrontation between McCarthy and Gaetz over the speaker vote on Friday night.

This would not be the first physical interaction to occur in the people's house. With the historic period without a speaker elected and now a scuffle taking place during a vote- this is going to be an eventful year for the 118th congress. Now that Kevin McCarthy is speaker, he needs to make sure the party can get things done and lead effectively.
