In this video you will learn how to change a miter saw blade. I take you through all the steps in changing a blade safely.

The first thing you want to do is unplug any power tool you are working on. Take your time with any woodworking task you are working on. You will find that it's important to not rush anything, because that's how you open yourself up to injury, or breaking something.

The saw typically comes with a wrench to use for this job. But if you don't have the right wrench, it's best to use the right sized open ended, or box wrench. I didn't have this on hand, so I used a crescent wrench.

There is a button on the saw that stops the blade from spinning. If your saw is different you may need to use another wrench on the opposite side of the blade to hold it in place.

The main problem you can run into when using a crescent wrench is stripping the head of the bolt. If I felt like the bolt was on too tight, and I ran this risk, I would have held off and gotten a box wrench.

It's important to note these nuts are reverse thread. That means you will need to spin them clockwise to loosen them. This is so they don't come loose when you are using the saw.

As you see in this video i have no trouble taking off the bolt.

Once you remove the washer and nut, set them aside.

Make sure you remember which way the old blade is positioned. This will make it much easier to be sure the new blade is put on correctly.

If you forget, The "chisels" on the blade are meant to face down. This is so when it spins it pushes the sawdust away from you and towards the collection bag.
