Sinaloa cartel shoots at Aeromexico passenger plane 🇲🇽

After the arrest of the son of Joaquín Guzmán - better known as “El Chapo” - Ovidio Guzman, members of the Mexican Sinaloa cartel tried to instigate a riot - or even worse. They shot at an airborne military plane near Culiacán Airport, but they also fired shots at an Aeromexico passenger plane on the ground.

In several videos that have surfaced online earlier today, passengers of the actual plane can be seen taking cover. In other videos small weapons fire can be heard around the airport as well. Members of the cartel have additionally closed off part of 'their' area.

None of the passengers on the Aeromexico plane was injured and the military plane also was able to successfully land at the airport without injuries reported. For those traveling to Mexico, you might want to rethink traveling there for the time being, as it's possible the cartel will organize attacks randomly targeting tourists, security forces and political figures.
