Let's do school & make some delicious homemade sourdough crackers AND some homemade playdough! Both of these recipes are super easy. Below are the ingredients & recipes for both! We are sooooo close to the end of the 4th grade school year, I'm so excited & I know Parker is too! Just a regular DAY IN THE LIFE! Cheers...

SOURDOUGH STARTER CRACKERS: (I like to double this recipe)
1/2 cup active or unfed starter
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup hard white wheat flour
1/4 mixed seeds or everything bagel seasoning
1/8 cup water
2TBS olive oil
1-1/2 tsp honey
salt to taste
1. Mix together all ingredients in a mixing bowl, cover and let rest for 30 min.
2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
4. Dust counter with flour. Roll dough out with a rolling pin to about 1/8 inch thick. Use pizza cutter or cracker cutters to cut out crackers.
5. Poke crackers 2-3 times with a fork.
5. Bake in the oven for 7 minutes. Turn the crackers over & bake for another 7 minutes. Remove & place on cooling rack. Crackers will be soft and chewy at 1st. If you want them to be crunchy, allow them to cool completely on the counter before eating. Store leftovers in airtight container.

PLAYDOUGH:
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup salt
4tsp cream of tartar
2 cups lukewarm water
2TBS vegetable or coconut oil
Food coloring
1. In a pot over medium heat, stir together flour, salt & cream of tartar.
2. Add water & oil. (If you're only using 1 color, add it to your pot now and combine. If using multiple colors add color in step 5).
3. Stir constantly to remove clumps. Continue to stir until the dough thickens & forms into a ball.
4. Remove from heat & divide dough into separate chunks. Place chunks into individual ziplock baggies.
5. Add desired food coloring to each bag & knead the dough inside the bags, with your hands until the color is completely incorporated.
Store play dough in air tight containers.
