"Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó won a U.K. court ruling Friday that takes him a step closer to victory in his battle with President Nicolás Maduro over a cache of gold bullion held in the Bank of England, the Associated Press reported. This is wonderful news, because $1Billion dollars worth of gold will soon return to the Venezuelan people. What does this mean for the local currency? Will it soon revalue, like currencies across the globe? The people of Venezuela recognize their sovereignty. Last year in October, they took it upon themselves to use shavings of gold to barter with one another. Now, with their gold being returned to them, they will have more purchasing power! This great news supports our assertion that the whole world has returned to the gold standard. Even in the United States we have several countries that recognize gold as legal tender.
