racing a deer on Independence Day 2022 in Mendon, NY

had the day off of work being a holiday and the weather was nice, so I went out for a ride. This happened on the return trip. While it's not uncommon to come across deer out on the trails, they usually run back into the foliage instead of running ahead on the trail.
