GAMES YOU NEED (& NEED TO AVOID) IN 2023!

There are some amazing games that people have been waiting to play for years coming in 2023, and there are many that we've had our eyes on as well. What are some of the games we are, and frankly are not, looking forward to in 2023? Let's take a look at just a few of the games you need, & need to avoid, in 2023!

Game:
Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe
Platform:
Nintendo Switch

I love the Kirby games, they are fun, super chill, and something I can play with my daughter around and not have to worry about it. I loved the previous Deluxe releases for the Switch so I anticipate this to be more of the same.

Game:
AEW Fight Forever
Platforms:
Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Playstation, Steam

AEW Fight Forever marks the return of THQ to wrestling games, having held the WWE license for a very long time. I don't watch AEW like I wish I had time to, and I hate the fact that the WWE Network has spoiled me that I don't want to drop $50 for a Pay-Per-View. When I do watch AEW I always like the product, and I am hoping Fight Forever is a quality release.

Game:
FFVII Rebirth
Platform:
Playstation 5

I don't like RPGs, like at all, so for me anything from Final Fantasy is a hard pass. I know people love these games, I'm just not one of them.

Game:
Robocop: Rogue City
Platforms:
Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Playstation, Steam

I LOVE the original 2 Robocop movies, they are so iconic 80's. From the story of Murphy, OCP, the ED-209, and more, I've always enjoyed the series. I even liked the early 2000's TV Show! That said, a new game set in this universe has me super intrigued. But please, please, please.. Don't Suck!

Game:
Minecraft Legends
Platform:
Nintendo Switch, XBox, Playstation, Steam

No, just, no. I am not a Minecraft fan, I've never gotten the appeal and never will. I don't care about the series, there's legit no point to the game to me. You wander around, killing sheep, avoiding creepers, and building stuff. Why?

Game:
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Platform:
Nintendo Switch

I did not like Breath of the Wild at all, to me it is the worst game in the franchise and wildly over-rated. Tears of the Kingdom looks to be a continuation of that sort of game, running on the same engine with similar gameplay mechanics. Nope, I am out.

Game:
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Platforms:
PlayStation, Xbox, Steam

Recent Star Wars has not been something I've enjoyed a ton. I really dislike the sequel Trilogy, and most of the Disney-era content has been sub-par. I bought Jedi: Fallen Order, played a little, and set it down initially, until finally picking it back up and completing it in 2022. The beginning of Fallen Order is a grind to get through, and it seems like once it gets moving the game ends. I am hoping for a deeper game with more to explore, and I've actually already pre-ordered a copy of Jedi Survivor through my local Gamestop.

These are some of the games coming in 2023 that I'm looking forward to and, well, not. What do you think of the list, make sure to leave your comments below!
