In Magic Ring, Chain 2, 1 Double Crochet
Make Ear: Chain 2, Slip Stitch into 1st Chain
2 Double Crochet
Make Wing: Chain 4, Single Crochet in 3rd chain from hook, Chain 4, Single Crochet in 3rd chain from hook, Single Crochet in 1st Chain of Wing
6 Double Crochet
Make Wing
2 Double Crochet
Make Ear
1 Double Crochet
Pull Ring Tight
Slip Stitch to join
2 French Knots for Eyes (in optional glow in the dark yarn)

Demonstrated:
How to crochet a bat using a magic circle
Magic Circle (aka Magic Ring) = MR
Chain = CH
Single Crochet = SC
Double Crochet = DC
Slip Stitch = Sl St

Making shapes with crochet is fast and easy when you use a magic ring.
