TERMINAL!! "predicted to lead to death, especially slowly; incurable" That is what we are dealing with this my new phalaenopsis called 'Insolence'. The phalaenopsis with a terminal spike has one goal and one goal only; in it's DNA is the fight for survival which could mean a keiki on a flower spike or, a new plant at the stem. This process can take a very very long time, but to ensure that the orchid has it's best chance of getting the keiki to grow, some necessary steps need to be taken. Energy conservation is the first and foremost key to eventually growing a keiki on a phalaenopsis with a terminal spike.
