Habitat
This endemic bird occupies the island of Sulawesi, its distribution includes Lake Lindu, Lembeh Island, Muna Island, Buton Island and the southern part of Togean Island.

Size
When compared to other types of hornbills, the Sulawesi Kangkareng is relatively small at ± 53 cm, therefore the Sulawesi Kangkareng is often referred to as the dwarf hornbill.
