In 1933, Joseph Stalin would send political fugitives to Nazino Island to try and build a self-sustaining colony. The conditions on the island would quickly devolve into violence, disease, famine, and cannibalism. This project would quickly be shut down by Stalin, while murderous gangs would roam the island looking for victims to consume. This is the horrible story of the Nazino Tragedy.
