Father of Special Forces, Daniel Morgan and his rifleman ambush Burgoyne and his officers at Freeman’s Farm. Sniping Burgoyne’s officers (which was considered foul play in that time) with their rifles from the trees. Morgan’s rifleman struck with deadly accuracy using these rifles. All other soldiers of that time used smooth bore muskets, which were not accurate, which is why they fired volleys in a line formation.

The rifles they used were traditionally used for hunting, and couldn’t even hold a bayonet. In Morgan’s case, his men were extremely effective with their rifles and unconventional warfare, which he learned from the Indians in the previous war. Morgan’s method of aiming at the officers also proved to be a great tactic. Whenever an officer was struck down, the morale of their soldiers was struck down with them and they oftener surrendered.

Also in this short video, we hear about Washingtons loss at Brandywine. Due to his loss at Brandywine, the Red coats later took control of the nation’s capital Philadelphia. Even though Washington lost this battle to Howe, he gave the red coats hell. Proving that his army wasn’t going down without a fight and they killed and wounded many of Howe’s men.
