This large hornbill can be found in several countries of its natural habitat, namely Indonesia (Sumatra), China, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Butan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Peninsular Malaysia. The large hornbill comes from Sumatra which prefers to be alone in its territory.
This hornbill has a body length of 95-105 cm and a weight of 2.1-3.4 kg.
Ficus fruit, nutmeg and drupe are the main food for the hornbill. During the breeding season, this species also eats eggs, insects, worms, snails and crabs. As well as preying on small amphibians,
