IS LAB-GROWN MEAT VEGAN-FRIENDLY?
#LIVE

Naijha speaks with Dr. Milton Mills, Sarina Farb, Donny Moss, and Victoria Moran about the big question amongst vegan circles right now, "Is lab-cultured meat and dairy vegan-friendly?"

Sarina Farb is a vegan educator, public speaker, and liberation activist working to make the world a better place for all beings. Being born and raised vegan in Kansas taught Sarina to think for herself and stand for justice even when it’s unpopular. Today Sarina focuses on combining heart and science to empower individuals to think critically, see past corporate propaganda, and to live ethically. Her projects include writing, speaking, and creating educational videos for her Instagram and YouTube channel Instagram Born Vegan, and hosting the Science is Gray Podcast. In 2020 she co-founded and organized the Climate Diet Summit, to empower individuals to fight climate change with diet change.

Dr. Milton R. Mills graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed residency training at UCSF-Fresno and Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. In the past, Dr. Mills volunteered as Associate Director of Preventive Medicine for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a North American group of doctors and laypersons dedicated to promoting improved health care, better and more appropriate nutrition, and higher standards in medical research. Dr. Mills practices outpatient clinic-based medicine in under-served communities in Washington D. C., and Northern Virginia; and also works as a Critical Care physician with United Medical Center in Washington DC. He has lectured and given research seminars across the United States and in Mexico, Canada, Ireland, and the UK on a variety of preventive health topics including the negative impacts of meat and dairy consumption on human health; nutrition and HIV/AIDS; nutrition and cancer; and the dietary needs of various ethnic groups.

Donny Moss is a New York City-based animal rights advocate who leads campaigns and produces print and video news stories for the online animal rights news magazine, TheirTurn.net

Victoria Moran is a whole-foods vegan of over three decades and listed by VegNews among the Top 10 Living Vegetarian Authors, Victoria Moran has written books including Creating a Charmed Life, The Love-Powered Diet, and Main Street Vegan. Featured twice on Oprah and voted "Peta's Sexiest Vegan Over 50" in 2016, she is the founder and director of Main Street Vegan Academy, training and certifying vegan lifestyle coaches, educators, and entrepreneurs. Victoria was the lead producer of A Prayer for Compassion, 2019
documentary exploring food choices and spirituality; and she is a co-founder of the Compassion Consortium, a spiritual center for humans who honor all beings. She lives in New York with her husband, dog, and pigeon, all of whom rescued one another.
