Wry or Crook Neck in Chickens - Ann's Tiny Life and Homestead

Went to let the chickens out today and noticed that one didn't come out of the van coop. She was on the floor of the coop with her neck all twisted to the side and she couldn't stand up. I think it's wry neck, also known as crook neck, or torticollis. It can occur in baby chicks as well as older chickens. It's causes are varied, such as a nutritional deficit, botulism, an ear or eye infection, or even injury to the head.

I almost immediately culled her when I saw her. It was very disturbing. But I'm going to give this hen a chance.
