Defenders USA Skills Check #2

The fundamental skills needed for gun carriers is to be able to grip the gun correctly, aim the gun, and properly trigger the gun well for an accurate shot or multiple shots on the intended target.
Then, efficiency is added in a good draw stroke and managing recoil effectively to return back to the target with acceptable hits in more compressed timeframes.
We do best to build those skills in our students through the training we offer...and here's a fundamental skills check for you to also try out in our classes or on your own.
This D-USA Skills Check #2 is one we use in our Handgun Speed & Accuracy class. Find the link to our course calender below 👇.
This is one shot after drawing from concealment at a Defenders USA poker card (3 3/8th" Height x 2 3/8's" Wide) set ten yards away from the shooter, with a hit in less than 2 seconds, meaning 1.99 seconds or less with a hit to the inside areas or breaking the inside line of the target card. Doing so is an acceptable, good hit, an indicator of a learned high level of skill by the student.
A more spicy version is the same thing but with a maximum par time of less than 1.5 seconds, meaning 1.49 seconds or less.
This is a tough drill for many but a good representation of a high level of skill and up to a master level of skill.
