90s JLP | Race Relations Town Hall (1999)

Originally produced July 15, 1999, The Jesse Peterson Show hosts a town hall meeting on race relations in our country. The NAACP has filed a lawsuit against gun manufacturers, blaming them for violent crime in the black community. They've blamed TV networks for not employing enough black people. Former LAPD cop Brian Bentley wrote a book titled One Time: The Story of a South Central Los Angeles Police Officer. He says there's a lot of police brutality, racism, and ignorance in the police department. Other people chime in, including a lady from the Christian Coalition and people from Jesse's nonprofit BOND.

*The NAACP is the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. They supposedly stand for “civil rights” and against “racism.”
