Stanford University Tries to Eliminate "Harmful Language"

Stanford University's CIO Council and People of Color in Technology created a website devoted to eliminating harmful language. Despite the intention being to decrease harm, many were offended by inclusion of words like "American" and "fireman" on the list. In this episode of America Uncovered (in case you're wondering, we're not going to change our name to "United States Uncovered") we look at some of terms on Stanford's offensive language list, the blowback Standford received for the list, and how it responded.
