"Gone in 60 Seconds" Car Dispute Resolved
@BisforBuild got cheated - hope there is some justice for them now!
One unintended consequence of the 2000 version of the film "Gone in 60 Seconds" is that Eleanor Mustang enthusiasts are more interested than ever in creating one. Another side effect is that a verdict in favor of plaintiff Carroll Shelby Licensing versus defendant Denice Shakarian Halicki could have brought an end to 18 years of litigation this month. The short version of the narrative will be presented after we discuss the conclusion and its implications. Since 2008, Halicki has owned the intellectual property copyright to the Eleanor Mustang from the Nicholas Cage 2000 film. The car cannot be protected by copyright as intellectual property, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California found in reversing an earlier ruling.
