Otama, who came to be known as Keishoin, was enshrined at Edo Castle, where Otanuki-san (a deity in the shape of a raccoon dog) was moved here after the Meiji Restoration.
It is an interesting sanctuary where a god with a fox's household accepted a raccoon dog deity.
