A Kingdom beyond compare (Growing seed/Mustard Seed Mark 4:30-34, Matthew 13:31-32)

Over the course of history there have been many great kingdoms upon the face of this earth; the Persian Empire, The Han dynasty, the Mongol empire, and the Ottoman Empire to name a few. At one point in the early 20th Century the British Empire laid claim to nearly one quarter of the planet’s land and the earth’s population. That is a massive kingdom with great power, authority, and notoriety yet it still pails in comparison to the Kingdom of God that will be compromised of the vastness of all the universes in space. When Jesus speaks of a tiny mustard seed growing into a mighty tree our simple minds can not grasp the vastness or greatness of what the Kingdom of God will look like as it continues to grow. It would be hard for us to imagine a kingdom or empire controlling one forth of the earth much less a Kingdom that 100% ruled over the vastness of space and time. Perhaps the most unfathomable part of this immaculate Kingdom is that God wants all of us to be a part of it but forces no one to be a part of it.

The supreme ruler of such a powerful Kingdom could make easily and forcefully make everyone bow and become a part of what is being built but instead He allows us to choose. He has extended an up invitation to everyone who ever existed that was hand delivered to this earth in the form of His Son Jesus Christ. This invitation cost God a great price (the life of His only begotten Son) but God seen it as a worthy price to pay so that we could be a part of His eternal Kingdom. Without this invitation we have no hope of entering God’s Kingdom but with it we have unprecedented access to the Creator of all. Such a kingdom has never existed on this earth and could never be created at the hands of mankind, it could only be formed by the Hands of God. How amazing is it that such a Kingdom will exist and how much more amazing is it that God wants us to be an active part of it and its government? Daniel 7:27 says, 27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him. (NIV)
