- Denver Broncos fire head coach Nathaniel Hackett. Hackett went 4-11 this year in a disastrous season for the Broncos. Broncos QB Russell Wilson was horrible this season and signed a 5-year $242 million contract extension and the Broncos are stuck with him until at least 2026.
- Eric Bieniemy replacing Hackett as the next Broncos head coach? The Chiefs’ offensive coordinator has interviewed for several openings in recent years, but has been unable to land a head coaching job. Denver interviewed Bieniemy last year before hiring Hackett. Could this be the opportunity for Bieniemy?
- Patrick Mahomes MVP lock? Mahomes is the heavy betting favorite to win NFL MVP after Week 16. Jalen Hurts getting injured and the Eagles still putting up 34 points without him hurts his chances. Joe Burrow and Josh Allen still have a small chance of winning MVP and ironically they play each other this week as Cincinnati hosts Buffalo. The winning QB of that matchup could win the award if Mahomes were to slip up in the final 2 weeks.
- The AFC Playoff Picture is tightening up with the Bills, Chiefs & Bengals all in the mix for the #1 seed. If the Bengals beat the Bills this week, Kansas City controls its own destiny to home field advantage throughout the NFL Playoffs.
