WHITE XMAS: Massive Christmas Storm Dumped 43 Inches Of Snow On New York

This video shows the intense snowstorm that has left at least 37 dead and residents in western New York trapped under several feet of snow.

The footage was shared by the West Seneca Police Department, a town in Erie County, in the U.S. state of New York, where they experienced 43 inches of snow.

It also caused power outages for thousands during the Christmas weekend.

Rescue crews and hundreds of snow plough drivers were in operation on Christmas Day.

Even emergency and recovery vehicles sent out to help ended up getting stuck in the snow. This included 11 ambulances that needed to be dug out the next day.

Newsflash obtained the video from West Seneca Police Department along with a statement that said: "Hope everyone is tucked safely into their beds or wherever you found shelter tonight.

"Be thankful for whatever you may have, as many people out there have it worse this evening!

"The WSPD wishes everyone a warm and Merry Christmas, even the people who drove when we said not to. We're fully staffed tonight and ready if you need us! If you squint closely, you can see Wegmans sitting right in front of us here in this video.

"Hoping they open soon. Stay safe!"
