Massive funeral ceremony held in Bangladesh for party leader killed in clashes with police

Supporters and members of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) amassed in their thousands in front of the central office in Naya Paltan for the funeral ceremony of BNP leader Abdur Rashid Arefin, who died in clashes with police in Panchagarh, reportedly shot dead. Panchagarh's superintendent of police, however, claims that the cause of Arefin's death was a 'cardiac illness' and that there were no signs of injury on his body.
