Sunday Longplay - Super Mario Bros. 2: Wart's Wonderland (NES ROM Hack)

This week on Sunday Longplay, it's Christmas Day, and for the occasion I'm playing a newly released Christmas-themed ROM hack of Super Mario Bros. 2. Welcome to Wart's Wonderland!

A lot of my favorite ROM hacks are more difficult than their base game but don't go overboard into Kaizo or even into required-glitch territory, and Wart's Wonderland falls under that category. All levels are beatable with all characters, though Luigi and Peach tend to have an easier time thanks to their high jump and float abilities. This hack features 10 original levels all with unique custom holiday theme sprites. There is 1 warp that is required and therefore all 10 levels must always be played. All 10 levels contain 2 power up mushrooms and a one-up. Each level features a unique color palette. The end result is an eye-popping fun hack that any Mario 2 fan should play, whether at Christmas or not.
