JetBlue flight evacuated after fire onboard aircraft

JetBlue Airways is investigating a fire on board one of its aircrafts that forced the evacuation of nearly 200 passengers during a flight that departed from Bridgetown, Barbados.

A company spokesperson said it was evacuated shortly after landing at New York’s John F. Kennedy airport due to reports of a customer’s malfunctioning electronic device or battery.

Authorities said 167 people were evacuated using emergency slides with five passengers having minor injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
