What Would a Federal Red Flag Law Look Like?

Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses Washington's Red Flag Laws, or Extreme Risk Protection Orders, and what it means to you, the lawful and responsible gun owner. Having had Red Flag Laws in Washington state for several years, we discuss the law's intent, and what it has become in practice. We discuss many of the procedural problems with enforcing red flag laws and how it often times conflicts with notions of due process and substantively and procedurally.

But as this country once again debates sweeping gun legislation, in wake of several more tragedies, the reality is that some legislation, through legislative compromise, is possible at this point. Red Flag Laws seem to be an area for compromise and thus, if you live in any of the 31 states that do not currently have these laws, you better familiarize yourself with these now.
