Sen. Frank Church in 1975 - "Govt. Can Monitor All US Citizens Calls"

Back in 1975, the year that I graduated high school, Senator Frank Church warned that the United States government had the capability to listen to every message and every call by every U.S. citizen, and see everything that you do. EVERYTHING. He says that the government is technologically decades ahead of the people and that this technology is being used against foreign countries now, but warns it could be used against United States citizens in the future.

That was almost 48 years ago. Almost a half-century ago.
Are they now watching, listening, monitoring more than ever before? Is there now technology that is even FAR MORE advanced than ever before?
