UKRAINIAN President Volodymyr Zelensky met Polish President Andrzej Duda in Poland's Rzeszow after his return from Washington D.C. on Thursday (December 22), video released by Duda's office showed.

The footage showed the two embracing and holding a meeting. Duda's aide told Reuters the meeting lasted nearly two hours and touched on Zelensky's U.S. visit as well as Polish and Ukrainian relations.

Zelensky told Congress on Wednesday (December 21) U.S. aid to his country was an investment in democracy as he invoked battles against the Nazis in World War Two to press for more assistance in the war against Russia.

Poland - which shares a roughly 500-kilometer (310-mile) border with Ukraine - has registered more than 1.5 million refugees from its eastern neighbour since the war began, the most of any European Union nation.
