My Weight Watcher Story…why I started Weight Watchers…

In the summer of 2007 we went to the Azores with friends…it was a really fun trip…

Here are a couple of photos of my wife and me from that trip…

When viewing the pictures from that trip…I realized that I had slowly, but steadily been putting on weight since I quit smoking 20 years earlier…

The following fall some of the staff at work made arrangements to have a weightwatcher meeting during lunch in the school conference room…

I signed up…I figured what the heck…I need to lose some weight because I had a hard time tieing my shoes because most of my weight was in my stomach…

The men in my family had this tendency to gain weight in their stomaches and a panch would stick out…I was heading in that direction…

Weighing in at that first meeting, I tipped the scale at 213+ lbs.

The girls in this group from work want to make the weight loss journey competitive…so we all put in $1 each week and the “Biggest Loser” got the pot…

As we progressed through those first few months, I tended to win the pot…I was losing weight. This went on for the duration of our agreement with Weight Watchers…no one signed up to continue meeting at work, so I found another meeting…

After 10 months…I had reached my goal weight…

I have been at goal for almost 15 years…

I still go to meetings…weight in…tract my meals…exercise…learn new things…

This community has become an integral part of my life…They keep me on tract, focused and accountable…

The last two years I have connected with an affiliate marketing business that has a community similar to Weight Watchers.
