----- Footage shows a Ukrainian soldier using a UK-delivered LMM Martlet man portable air defense system (MANPADS) to down a reported Russian Orlan-10 observation UAV.

The footage is possibly another angle of a recent video we published showing an Orlan-10 spiraling downward into the ground.

A small unmanned, unarmed UAV may seem, to some, like a waste of an advanced surface-to-air missile, but the real-time data that these aerial devices provide to their controllers is invaluable. By knocking down this aircraft, the Ukrainians just took away the Russian's ability to identify and locate targets. It also affords them a small window of time in which they can maneuver and relocate units without being observed.
