In this, our final session on the Prerequisites for the Lord's Return, Doug takes a deep-dive into The Song of Solomon and brings its relevance to us today as the bride who is to make herself ready for her Bridegroom (Revelation 19:7).

Type - King Solomon - Anti-type - Satan / world system
Type - Shepherd Lover - Anti-type - Christ

As Doug explains this last example of the prerequisites to the return of Jesus Christ for His bride, he notes: "The Rapture will come when the Bride (the Church) responds to her Bridegroom (Jesus Christ) in a love that answers to all that He represents as our 'Shepherd-Lover'."

This session challenges us to consider where we are in our spiritual life - and where we need to be so as to be prepared for the soon-coming of our Redeemer and Savior: "The devil is behind all that would draw us out as spiritual adulteresses by entering into a friendship with this world (James 4:4). This would be the spiritual background of what the Shulamite woman was facing in The Song of Solomon; and this is the same thing the church has been facing throughout its history here on earth. Are we going to live as if this life is everything? And the best that Satan can give us in this life, are we going to exchange that for our birthright? Are we going to exchange that for that which God is calling us to enter in to (Revelation 2) - which is, 'first love'?"
