God of War Ragnarök is an action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released worldwide on November 9, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking the first cross-gen release in the God of War series. It is the ninth installment in the series chronologically, and the sequel to 2018's God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game is set in ancient Scandinavia and feature series protagonist Kratos and his teenage son Atreus. Teased as the finale to the Norse era of the series, the game covers Ragnarök, the eschatological event which is central to Norse mythology and was foretold to happen in the previous game after Kratos killed the Aesir god Baldur.

Kratos and Atreus returns home from the hunt after narrowly escaped from Freya's ambush. After arriving, Atreus is saddened when one of their wolves Fenrir is sick, forcing him to put him down. Atreus went to bury Fenrir while Kratos take a rest. After realizing that Atreus hasn't return for a long time, Kratos and Mimir gone looking for him. During the search, they are attacked by a bear and Kratos almost kill the bear when it transformed back into Atreus, who were turned into bear during his emotional distress. The three of them returned home when they are visited by Thor and Odin, who came for them to propose a deal; the Aesir will leave them alone in exchange of Atreus stop seeking Týr to start Ragnarök. Kratos refused, prompting Odin ordering Thor to attack him. Thor overpowered Kratos in battle, but later retreats as he said that it's not their time yet. Kratos confront Atreus about his search of Týr, prompting him leading Kratos to Týr's shrine, revealing a secret passage inside the shrine that can only be opened by Giants. Inside it, Atreus told Kratos that he along with Sindri discovered that Týr has been imprisoned in one of the mines in Svartalfheim and begging Kratos' help to free him, which he reluctantly agrees. Kratos and Atreus leaves Midgard and take refuge in Brok and Sindri's house inside World Tree. !!Hope You Enjoy!!
