Sometimes, I feel bad and negative
Trying to put feelings into boxes
It's been a long summer of hope and losses
I have to remind myself to keep going
To not chase far-off dreams,
But, to take one day at a time
And let go of demeans

I try to see this world for what it is.
There is a lot of hunger, hate, and heat.
Trees burned down in summer
Chaos weather ensued
I'm my own worse enemy sometimes, too

The planet is delicate
The seasons are rough
I try and stand tall
To make it through the tough
I try and get rest
To make sure I feel my best
But, sometimes my ego
Takes centre stage

Whilst, the terror of the media
Scares me a little at hand
It's time to take a stand
To be kind, not cruel
To empty the castle of anything that may fool

I can keep going
I can keep on giving
I can keep on loving, Those around
Don't let your ego, get you stuck in quicksand
