The Iron brigade also known as "The Black Hats", feared by enemy Confederates and for right reason, they were some of the most courageous soldiers in the Civil War. The Wisconsin 2nd, 6th and 7th Wisconsin infantry as well as the 19th Indiana and 24th Michigan infantries. 1861-1865 At a memorial at the Lyndon Station Rest Area on Interstate 90
