In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'ūn.

As Salāmu ʿAlaykum Brothers & Sisters,

On the morning of the 9th of May, our beloved brother and friend Denis Guga (Gugabyte) passed from this dunya due to the progression of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). Denis survived through his first year, beating the odds to live a meaningful and substantial 24 years.

Despite his illnesses and disabilities, Denis dedicated his life to preserving, sharing, and learning the beautiful Dīn of Islām. He was loved and cherished by his friends, family, and the da'wah community which he was an active part of, using his precious time wisely to edit and produce videos of Islāmic content for EFDawah, Farid Responds, Ben Iqra, Ijaz Ahmad, and Kashif Shahzada. These channels have audiences in the tens of millions, with hundreds of millions of views. Denis' contribution to these organisations helped them achieve these great numbers.

[Why you should donate]
Despite his condition, Guga was able to give so much to the da'wah in his limited time on earth. With that in mind, as his close friends and beloved brothers, and with the permission of his family, we've all agreed that it would be beneficial to continue his stream of good deeds through sadaqah jariyah, as a way of giving back to him with as much generosity as he gave through his hard work and sincere dedication.

[Where the donations go]
We aim to build a Masjid (Mosque) in The Gambia on behalf of Guga.

If we fall short of this goal we will use the funds raised to build borehole(s) (water wells) in The Gambia.

Any leftover funds will be used to plant olive trees in Palestine. This gift will provide regular crop for oil, medicine, and food for generations to come.

As narrated by Ibn Mas’ud: “I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “There is no envy except in two: a person who God has given wealth and he spends it in the right way, and a person whom Allah has given wisdom (ie religious knowledge) and he gives His decisions accordingly and teaches it to the others. " — Sahih al-Bukhari 1409.
