El Paso and Denver declare states of emergency as a federal immigration policy comes to a end

Title 42, a COVID-era policy put in place to help blunt the spread of the disease will end in just two days. The policy allowed Border Agents to quickly return migrants to Mexico. Now, both El Paso and Denver have declared states of emergency ahead of what they fear will be a surge of more than 10,000 migrants wanting to come into the U.S. Senator Joe Manchin is among the lawmakers hoping to extend Title 42 before it expires.
