Blackout bread :
Which bread recipes can all be baked with tea lights ?
Here is another variant of a classical bread for you.
There are numerous videos with good bread recipes for you and should you - against all expectations - be affected by a power failure (blackout) this winter - baking with tea lights is a real good alternative.

The blackout bread is of course intended for the "worst case scenario" and this video was made for such a case, or when you go somewhere for a hiking & camping trip.

So if the baker keeps the doors closed due to a power failure and you too, you don't have electricity to be able to use your oven, this here is a solution and a real alternative to bake bread anyway.
You can also prepare the bread from a pack of muesli if you don't have the flour. It's not hard at all - it's super easy.

To bake bread with tea lights, you can use up to 500g of dough. It is important that you have two pots that fit into each other or a pot that fits a baking pan. You need enough tea lights (please pay attention to the important information in the video), these should have a burning time of at least 4 hours (3h + 1h)
The distance from the ground to the pot is about 4 cm.
Of course, this depends on how heavy the pot is and how much the grating pushes through. The flames of the candles should not touch the bottom of the pot, otherwise a drop of soot will form, which is flammable! In any case, the heat directly above the flame is hottest and therefore most effective. Therefore there should be a small distance between the flame and the pot (about 1 cm).
If necessary, a normal stainless steel pot with a glass lid is also suitable as a pot, it may just take a little longer in it. A cocotte (a roaster) is best, as it stores and conducts the heat best.
The bread can be turned when the top of the dough is completely dry and firm. This is the case after about 2.5 / 3 hours.

⛔️Important: If you want to bake with tea lights, you should not leave them unattended and make sure you have a suitable fire extinguisher or fire blanket at hand. Never extinguish with water! A fire blanket or fire extinguisher is available for a few euros.

Bread stays fresh for a few days.
In this year 2022 even the governments advises precaution with food and other supplies, so every household should have enough non-perishable food at home to last a certain period of time.

Enjoy it, bon appetit.
